John F. Hallman III, CEO of Chapman Hall, REALTORS, INC., has spent his entire 55-year career in Atlanta real estate. He has played a major role in helping the industry evolve into what it is today. John introduced two innovative real estate business models that have become major trends within Atlanta.
He is a sixth generation Atlantan and has been involved in Atlanta real estate since childhood. John’s great grandfather, Robert Hemphill, founded Central Real Estate Company on November 14, 1910 in Atlanta. In 1930, his great uncle Harry Hallman, founded Hallman Realty in downtown Atlanta, with offices in the historic Hurt Building. Shortly thereafter, another great uncle, Carl Dodd, was a co-founder of Haas and Dodd Real Estate, which existed until 2017.
On January 15, 1935 John’s father, John Hallman Jr., got his real estate license and worked for his uncle at Hallman Realty Company. In March, 1969, John got his real estate license, and in 1972 founded John Hallman Realtors, then in 2000, founded Chapman Hall Realtors.
John Hallman, IV, a fifth generation of Hallmans in real estate, got his license in July of 1997 and worked for Chapman Hall for several years before founding his own real estate company on St Simons Island.
Leigh Hallman Hoke, is another fifth generation of Hallmans in real estate. Leigh received her license in July, 1993 and worked for John Hallman Realtors and then Chapman Hall Realtors. Leigh currently serves as our Qualifying Broker.
John is a graduate of the University of Georgia. He graduated from the Business School with a BBA in Marketing.
John, Sr is a recipient of the prestigious Phoenix Award, which is earned by only the top 1/10 of 1% of REALTORS. John has consistently been named as part of the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Who’s Who of Atlanta real estate for many years. Today, Chapman Hall Realtors stands as the one of the most successful and innovative real estate firms in Atlanta. With multiple locations, hundreds of agents and over a billion dollars in closed sales year over year.
